Baylor Adds Isaac Williams from Transfer Portal
Baylor men’s basketball continues its roster overhaul with the addition of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi guard Isaac Williams, who announced his commitment via Instagram on Friday night. Williams becomes the program’s eighth pickup this cycle under head coach Scott Drew.
As a freshman during the 2024-25 season, Williams played in 19 games, averaging 10.8 points, 3.7 assists, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.1 steals per game. Standing 6-foot-2 and weighing 190 pounds, he shot 44.1% from the field while logging nearly 26 minutes per game.
The Oklahoma City native had several standout performances, scoring in double figures nine times. His highlights included a 23-point game against Southeast Louisiana and 21 points versus New Mexico State. He also scored 12 points against nationally ranked Purdue early in the season.
Despite his scoring ability, Williams had some struggles. He shot just 21.9% from three-point range on limited attempts and had issues with turnovers, recording six in a single game against UTRGV and two or more in 13 games overall. Nevertheless, he was the Islanders’ leading passer and second-leading scorer for the season.
Williams joins a group of transfers that includes players from Cincinnati, High Point, Rice, Wyoming, Oregon State, Omaha, and Tennessee. Among the newcomers, only Williams, Juslin Bodo Bodo, and Cameron Carr bring more than one year of eligibility to Baylor. Williams will have three years remaining.
