Travis Perry Drawing Interest from Louisville, Arkansas, and Tennessee
Travis Perry, a standout guard from Eddyville, Kentucky, has entered the NCAA transfer portal and is quickly becoming a sought-after name. The 6’2″ combo guard was ranked as the 7th-best point guard nationally in his class and was considered the top high school player in Kentucky.
Although Perry began his college career with the Kentucky Wildcats, the recent influx of talented transfers has significantly reduced the likelihood of him receiving major playing time. With that in mind, he made the decision to explore opportunities elsewhere.
Several high-profile programs are reportedly interested in adding Perry, including Arkansas—coached by former Kentucky coach John Calipari—as well as Tennessee and Louisville, according to On3’s Joe Tipton.
During his freshman year under new head coach Mark Pope, Perry showed flashes of potential, averaging 2.7 points per game and shooting just over 31% from the field. One of his standout performances came in a February matchup against Alabama, where he scored a season-high 12 points and hit three three-pointers.
With the transfer portal now closed, Kentucky is moving forward with shaping its roster for the upcoming season. Meanwhile, Perry is looking to find a new program where he can take the next step in his career and play a more prominent role.
