Utah Transfer Tight End CJ Jacobsen Commits to Louisville
Louisville football has added depth to its roster with the addition of former Utah tight end CJ Jacobsen through the transfer portal. Jacobsen committed to the Cardinals after a visit to the campus that took place from Monday through Wednesday morning. He described the visit as “awesome” and said he “loved everything about it.”
Jacobsen, a 6-foot-4, 235-pound tight end, strengthens a Louisville position group that has been affected by injuries. A native of Meridian, Idaho, and a graduate of Rocky Mountain High School, he was part of Utah’s 2022 recruiting class. He redshirted his first season and did not see playing time last year.
Originally recruited by several programs, Jacobsen chose Utah over offers from NC State and many others. He entered the transfer portal in December 2024. Louisville, which had also recruited him during his initial recruitment, extended an offer again.
During his senior year of high school, Jacobsen totaled over 500 receiving yards and scored eight touchdowns, helping lead his team to a 10-2 record. He earned 5A All-State and All-Conference honors from the Idaho Statesman in 2022. He was ranked as the No. 2 overall prospect in Idaho and was listed as the No. 33 tight end nationally by 247Sports, with the 247Sports Composite ranking him 30th at his position.
Jacobsen has not yet received a transfer rating from 247Sports.
