Josh Allen Responds with Humor When Asked About Upgrading Hailee Steinfeld’s Engagement Ring
Josh Allen recently addressed a playful question about whether he plans to upgrade the engagement ring he gave to actress Hailee Steinfeld. The moment occurred during a livestream interview on March 12, 2025, following the announcement of his massive $330 million contract extension with the Buffalo Bills, which secures him as the NFL’s highest-paid quarterback through 2030.
When a reporter asked if Allen planned to allocate some of that new money toward a “bigger ring” for Steinfeld, Allen laughed and clarified, “A bigger ring, you said?” He followed up with a smile, saying, “Nah, I think she likes the one she’s got.”
Allen and Steinfeld, both 28, got engaged in November 2024 after a romantic Malibu proposal surrounded by roses and candles. They first started dating in 2023 and made their relationship public on Instagram in July 2024.
Steinfeld later shared in an interview that Allen gave her a heads-up to dress up for their special day, allowing her to feel confident and prepared when he popped the question. She described the proposal as “magical,” especially since it took place in Malibu, a place she calls her “happy place.”
Their first red carpet appearance as an engaged couple came in February 2025 at the NFL Honors, where Allen received the MVP award. Steinfeld proudly celebrated his achievement on Instagram, captioning a post, “That’s MVP Josh Allen to you!” Allen responded sweetly in the comments: “I love you ❤️🔥.”
