Buffalo Bills: Josh Allen Compared to Cam Newton by Division Rival
The Buffalo Bills have dominated the AFC East, winning the division five straight seasons, and expectations are high for another strong campaign in 2025. Much of that confidence stems from the performance of star quarterback Josh Allen, who was named the 2024 NFL Most Valuable Player.
However, with continued success comes greater attention from division rivals. The New England Patriots, in particular, made significant moves to challenge Buffalo, including signing defensive lineman Milton Williams to a four-year, $104 million deal. Williams, a former Philadelphia Eagle, is eager to test himself against Allen.
Speaking on the Green Light with Chris Long podcast, Williams noted that despite being in the league, he has never had the chance to face Allen due to missing the game when the two teams last met. He shared what he’s heard from teammates about the challenge Allen presents.
“I ended up missing that game against Josh Allen,” Williams said. “Talking with [Christian] Barmore, he told me, ‘Yeah, Josh Allen is probably the hardest quarterback I’ve had to bring down.’ He’s big, fast, reminds me a lot of Cam Newton. He’s got a strong arm and can make every throw. It’s going to be a challenge, but I’m ready for it.”
Buffalo and New England split their games in the 2024 regular season.
