What Would Be the Bills’ ‘Nightmare’ Draft Scenario?
As the Buffalo Bills prepare for the upcoming NFL Draft, their focus appears to be on bolstering the defense—particularly at cornerback and along the defensive line. While some believe the team could use another wide receiver, Josh Allen’s success leading the offense to an average of nearly 31 points per game last season suggests that adding one isn’t urgent.
With defense being a clear priority, the Bills likely have a list of prospects in mind for the first two rounds. But what if those top targets are already off the board?
Brad Gagnon of Bleacher Report outlined a “nightmare draft scenario” for each NFL team. For Buffalo, the worst-case outcome would be a run on defensive stars before their pick at No. 30—while rivals like the Patriots and Jets secure impact players in the top seven.
In that case, the Bills could be forced to pivot. While the defense might not get the upgrade they hope for in the draft, the team could consider trading up if they see a flurry of defensive players going early. If not, they may rely on free agency to fill those gaps.
Even in a less-than-ideal situation, the Bills’ roster remains strong. The offense is already productive, and the addition of Joey Bosa brings extra firepower to the pass rush. If necessary, the 2025 strategy could shift toward simply outscoring opponents, with Allen once again carrying the load.
It’s not the preferred outcome—but it wouldn’t derail the Bills’ season, either.
