Louisville has officially signed wide receiver Dacari Collins, marking the football team’s first addition from the spring transfer portal. Collins, who previously played at Clemson and NC State, committed to Louisville on Saturday, with the university announcing the move on Monday.
The 6-foot-4, 215-pound receiver is the 21st transfer addition for Louisville since last season and the first since spring practices concluded. Collins originally transferred from Clemson to NC State ahead of the 2023 season. Over his college career, he has totaled 55 receptions for 755 yards and four touchdowns. Last season, he recorded personal bests with 24 receptions for 314 yards and two scores, starting every game he played in.
A native of Atlanta, Collins was a four-star recruit in the 2021 class out of Westlake High School. He was ranked as the No. 44 wide receiver in the country by 247Sports and No. 21 in Georgia. During his high school career, he logged 109 receptions for 1,990 yards and 20 touchdowns, with a consistent streak of 23 games with at least one catch.
At Clemson, Collins played in nine games as a true freshman in 2021, making three starts and catching 16 passes for 221 yards. His standout performance came against UConn with six catches for 97 yards. He added six more receptions for 56 yards in the Cheez-It Bowl against Iowa State. He redshirted the following season after appearing in just three games.
In 2023 at NC State, Collins gained momentum late in the season, catching nine of his 14 passes in the final four games. He played 168 of his 276 offensive snaps during that stretch. He had three catches for 46 yards and a touchdown in the regular-season finale against North Carolina and was also noted for his strong run-blocking ability, earning a 77.7 grade from Pro Football Focus. He dropped just two passes all season, both in the opening game.
