Four Players the Buffalo Bills Should Avoid With the No. 30 Pick in the 2025 NFL Draft
The Buffalo Bills head into the 2025 NFL Draft with one of the league’s most talented rosters, yet they’re still looking to get over the hump after a tough loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2024 AFC Championship Game.
This offseason, the Bills bolstered their roster with notable free agent additions, including edge rusher Joey Bosa, wide receiver Joshua Palmer, and defensive lineman Larry Ogunjobi. Holding the No. 30 pick in the first round of the upcoming draft, the team has several directions they could take—but also a few prospects they’d be wise to pass on.
1. Luther Burden III, WR, Missouri
While the Bills could use more weapons for Josh Allen, especially after adding Palmer, selecting Burden in the first round might be risky. Despite his solid route running and dependable hands, off-field concerns could be a red flag. With Buffalo in win-now mode, choosing a potentially high-maintenance player could be counterproductive. Additionally, the team may be better served focusing on defensive upgrades.
2. Kenneth Grant, DL, Michigan
Grant is a strong prospect with immediate potential, but his ideal role as a nose tackle doesn’t align with the Bills’ 4-3 defensive scheme. While he excels at stopping the run, Buffalo is likely seeking a more versatile lineman who can contribute more as a pass rusher.
3. Benjamin Morrison, CB, Notre Dame
Morrison was a standout in 2022 and 2023 but missed much of the 2024 season due to a hip injury. That injury raises concerns for a position that relies heavily on speed and agility. His lack of interceptions last season also suggests a dip in performance. With other healthier and more dependable options likely available, Morrison could be a risky choice at No. 30.
4. Shavon Revel, CB, East Carolina
Revel is a talented corner but also missed significant time in 2024 due to injury. Moreover, his competition level in college wasn’t the strongest, which may lead to doubts about his ability to transition quickly to the NFL. The Bills need someone who can contribute immediately, making Revel a less ideal pick. A safer option like Trey Amos could be more appropriate.
