Analyst Proposes Bold Draft Day Trade Between Browns and Broncos
A potential draft day trade between the Cleveland Browns and Denver Broncos has sparked discussion following a recent proposal by Tim Bielik of Cleveland.com. His mock draft suggests a deal that could help both teams address key priorities.
Under the proposed trade, the Browns would receive the 20th and 122nd overall picks in the 2025 NFL Draft. In return, the Broncos would get the 33rd, 94th, and 179th picks, along with a third-round selection in 2026.
Proposed Trade:
- Browns receive: Picks 20 and 122
- Broncos receive: Picks 33, 94, 179, and a 2026 third-round pick
With the 20th overall pick, Bielik projects the Browns would select quarterback Jalen Milroe—one of the more intriguing quarterback prospects in this year’s draft class. Milroe, known for his high upside, would join a quarterback room that already includes veterans Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett, giving him time to develop.
Bielik argues that this scenario offers long-term benefits, especially since offensive coordinator Tommy Rees—who previously worked with Milroe during his most productive college season—could help him reach his potential. Quarterbacks coach Bill Musgrave would also play a key role in his development.
While Flacco and Pickett provide short-term stability, neither is widely viewed as Cleveland’s future at the position. This move would allow the Browns to secure a high-upside quarterback without the pressure to start him immediately.
From Denver’s perspective, the trade provides valuable draft capital to address various needs or package picks to move up elsewhere. With a roster undergoing reconstruction, the additional selections could offer more flexibility.
Ultimately, the trade would allow both franchises to pursue their strategic goals: Cleveland aiming to secure its quarterback of the future, and Denver looking to strengthen its overall depth through multiple picks.
