Former NC State Wide Receiver Dacari Collins Commits to Louisville
Louisville head coach Jeff Brohm has secured his first commitment from the spring transfer portal window, landing experienced wide receiver Dacari Collins. The former Clemson and NC State receiver visited campus on Thursday night and announced his decision shortly afterward, becoming the Cardinals’ 21st transfer addition this offseason.
Collins, a 6-foot-4, 215-pound wideout, began his college career at Clemson before transferring to NC State ahead of the 2023 season. Over his college career, he has totaled 55 receptions for 755 yards and four touchdowns. Last season at NC State, Collins posted career highs with 24 catches for 314 yards and two touchdowns, despite missing a game due to injury.
A native of Atlanta, Collins was a four-star recruit out of Westlake High School in the Class of 2021. He was ranked the No. 44 wide receiver nationally and the No. 21 player in Georgia by 247Sports. In high school, he was a standout performer, recording 109 receptions for 1,990 yards and 20 touchdowns across 37 games, averaging over 18 yards per catch.
Collins made an early impact at Clemson as a true freshman in 2021, catching 16 passes for 221 yards, including a 97-yard performance against UConn. He also played in the Cheez-It Bowl, tallying six catches for 56 yards. After a limited sophomore season in which he redshirted, Collins transferred to NC State, where he finished strong in 2023—catching nine passes in the final four games and earning significant playing time down the stretch.
In addition to his receiving skills, Collins was also a strong run blocker last season, earning a 77.7 grade from Pro Football Focus. He also demonstrated reliable hands, dropping just two passes all season, both in the opener.
With his size, experience, and versatility, Collins is expected to be a valuable addition to Louisville’s receiving corps heading into the 2025 season.
