Utah Transfer Tight End CJ Jacobsen Plans Visit to Louisville
Former Utah tight end CJ Jacobsen is scheduled to visit the University of Louisville as he explores new opportunities through the NCAA transfer portal. The 6-foot-4, 235-pound athlete will be on campus Monday, April 21, as confirmed by Jacobsen to 247Sports.
Jacobsen, originally from Rocky Mountain High School in Meridian, Idaho, was a member of Utah’s 2022 recruiting class. Though he spent two seasons with the Utes, he redshirted his freshman year and did not see game action during the 2023 season. He officially entered the transfer portal in December 2024.
Louisville was one of the schools that showed early interest in Jacobsen during his high school recruitment. He previously visited the Cardinals in November 2022 during their matchup against Clemson. At the time, he had offers from a range of programs including NC State, Arizona, Arizona State, Boise State, BYU, and Wisconsin, among others.
As a senior at Rocky Mountain, Jacobsen tallied more than 500 receiving yards and scored eight touchdowns, helping lead his team to a 10-2 record. His performance earned him Idaho Statesman 5A All-State and All-Conference honors. He was ranked as the No. 33 tight end nationally by 247Sports and No. 30 by the 247Sports Composite.
Jacobsen has not yet been assigned a transfer portal rating, but his visit to Louisville signals mutual interest in potentially continuing his college career with the Cardinals.
