
Flyers Sign Forward Alex Bump to Entry-Level Deal
The Philadelphia Flyers have signed forward Alex Bump to a three-year entry-level contract set to begin with the 2025–26 season, General Manager Daniel Briere announced.
For the remainder of the current season, Bump will join the Flyers’ AHL affiliate, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms.
Bump, 21, was selected by Philadelphia in the fifth round (133rd overall) of the 2022 NHL Draft. He has attended the team’s development camp each year from 2022 to 2024.
Standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing 200 pounds, Bump recently wrapped up his sophomore year at Western Michigan University. Serving as an assistant captain, he led the team with 47 points (23 goals, 24 assists) and helped the Broncos win their first-ever NCAA men’s hockey national championship.
His standout season earned him the title of NCHC Forward of the Year and a unanimous spot on the First-Team All-NCHC. He was also named MVP of the NCHC Frozen Faceoff after scoring three goals and one assist in the tournament.
In his first collegiate season (2023–24), Bump was named to the NCHC All-Rookie Team and was a finalist for Rookie of the Year, posting 14 goals and 36 points in 38 games.
Originally from Prior Lake, Minnesota, Bump played high school hockey at Prior Lake High School from 2019–2022, where he totaled 147 points (72 goals, 75 assists) in 75 games. In his senior year, he was team captain and named USA Today’s Hockey Player of the Year. Before college, he also played in the USHL with the Omaha Lancers and Tri-City Storm, recording 25 goals and 56 points in 75 games.
