Buffalo Bills Make Roster Changes, Bring Back Tre’Davious White
The Buffalo Bills are welcoming back a familiar face—former All-Pro cornerback Tre’Davious White—after signing him to a free agent contract on Friday. The timing couldn’t be better, as the team looks to strengthen its secondary.
White, originally drafted in the first round out of LSU in 2017, was the first selection made under head coach Sean McDermott. During his prime, he was widely regarded as one of the league’s top cornerbacks and played a key role in elevating Buffalo into a playoff contender.
However, White’s career has been slowed in recent years by multiple injuries. Since 2020, he hasn’t played more than 11 games in a season due to setbacks including a torn ACL and Achilles. Following his release from the Bills after the 2023 season, White spent time with the Rams and the Ravens. Though he was on Baltimore’s playoff roster, he’s now looking to make a full comeback at age 30.
The Bills had a vacancy at cornerback opposite Christian Benford after Rasul Douglas departed in free agency. White’s return helps address that need.
In addition to signing White, the Bills made two other roster moves—releasing defensive tackle Branson Deen and tight end Armani Rogers. Rogers was waived due to a non-football injury.
Contract details for White have not yet been made public. Given the team’s tight salary cap, his return appears to be a move that aligns well financially for both sides.
