Josh Hart Reacts to Pistons’ Ticketing Decision Ahead of Knicks Series
The New York Knicks have officially returned to the NBA Playoffs, locking in the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference with a 51-31 record—one game better than their previous season. With the regular season concluded, the Knicks learned early that their first-round matchup would be against the Detroit Pistons, giving them extra time to prepare.
The Pistons, who pulled off a remarkable turnaround this season by climbing from last place to the No. 6 seed, made headlines with an unusual announcement. They decided to limit ticket sales for the playoff series to residents of Michigan and nearby regions, including parts of Ohio, Indiana, and Ontario. Purchases must be made with credit cards tied to billing addresses within those areas.
Knicks guard Josh Hart responded to the Pistons’ move, referencing last season’s experience in Philadelphia. “After Philly last year, I don’t blame them,” he said. “Knicks fans will still find a way to get those tickets.”
Despite their strong regular-season finish, the Knicks struggled against the Pistons during the year, managing only one win in four matchups. Detroit’s Cade Cunningham played a major role in those games, averaging over 30 points and positioning himself as a candidate for the Most Improved Player award.
Offensively, the Knicks remain one of the league’s top teams, ranking fifth in efficiency. Defensively, however, they’re in the middle of the pack at 13th. One key factor will be the health and impact of center Mitchell Robinson, who the team hopes can provide a strong presence in the paint. If he can stay on the floor and deliver, he may be the difference-maker in what’s expected to be a competitive playoff battle.
