U of L Commit Brady Ballart Energized by Recent Campus Visit
Brady Ballart, a University of Louisville linebacker commit from South Dearborn High School in Aurora, Indiana, returned to campus last weekend for the Spring Game. Ballart, a three-star prospect, became the second member of Louisville’s 2026 recruiting class when he committed in September.
Since then, he’s made multiple trips to campus, including his latest visit on Friday night. Ballart described the experience as a meaningful one, saying it deepened his excitement about his future with the program.
“My recent visit to Louisville was an incredible experience,” Ballart said. “Being back in The Ville and knowing it’s where I’ll be calling home made the trip especially meaningful. What stood out most was the genuine sense of belonging. I already feel like part of the Louisville family.”
Standing at 6-foot-2 and 215 pounds, Ballart was among roughly 50 recruits in attendance. He expressed particular interest in the performance of the defense and the linebacker group, and had conversations with defensive coordinator Ron English and linebackers coach Mark Ivey.
He’s scheduled his official visit for the weekend of June 20, when several other members of the 2026 class are expected to visit as well.
“I had in-depth conversations with Coach English and Coach Ivey,” Ballart said. “They both expressed excitement about me joining the program and mentioned I’m in great shape, which was encouraging. I’ve also developed strong relationships with other staff members, like Pete Nochta, Trent Mossbrucker, Coach Brian Brohm, and Coach Chris Barclay.”
Having been committed for several months, Ballart has also formed connections with some current players and fellow 2026 commits. After the Spring Game, he spent time with true freshmen Eric Hazzard and Mason Mims.
Projected to play inside linebacker, Ballart visited for four games last season and plans to return regularly this fall. As a sophomore, he recorded 64 tackles, seven tackles for loss, one interception, and two fumble recoveries. Over two seasons, he’s totaled 162 tackles and 13 tackles for loss. On offense, he’s added 525 rushing yards and eight touchdowns.
In his most recent season, Ballart posted 76 tackles (14 for loss), one forced fumble, and one recovery. Offensively, he rushed for 134 yards and two scores, caught nine passes for 112 yards, and completed three of seven passes for 70 yards and a touchdown.
Louisville currently holds 13 commitments for the Class of 2026.
