Buffalo Bills Mock Draft Round-Up: Trade Up, Trade Down, or Stay Put?
With the 2025 NFL Draft less than two weeks away, speculation is growing about what the Buffalo Bills might do with their first-round pick. Free agency has mostly quieted down, leaving many analysts uncertain about the strategy GM Brandon Beane will adopt on draft night.
This week’s mock drafts reflect a wide range of opinions. One recurring scenario involves a trade between the New York Giants and the Bills, with the Giants moving up to select quarterback Jaxson Dart at pick 30. In this case, the Bills would take wide receiver Emeka Egbuka from Ohio State early in the second round (pick 34).
Other analysts foresee Buffalo trading up. Chad Reuter of NFL.com suggests the Bills could trade with the Ravens, offering a fourth-round pick to move up to pick 27 and select Texas wide receiver Matthew Golden. Reuter believes Buffalo is in need of a dynamic downfield weapon and mentions Texas receiver Isaiah Bond as another option.
Kyle Stackpole from CBS Sports also sees Buffalo trading up, this time with the Vikings for the 24th pick. He projects the Bills selecting Nick Emmanwori, a versatile safety from South Carolina. According to Stackpole, Buffalo trades picks 30 and 109 to move up six spots, continuing a trend of trading up in recent drafts.
Many other mock drafts have Buffalo staying at pick 30 and focusing on defensive talent:
- Josh Edwards (CBS Sports): Shavon Revel Jr., CB (East Carolina) – A big, physical cornerback, fitting Buffalo’s preferences.
- Rhett Lewis (NFL.com): Maxwell Hairston, CB (Kentucky) – A fast, ball-hawking corner who ran a 4.28 40-yard dash and had a standout Senior Bowl week.
- Matt Maiocco (NBC Sports): Donovan Ezeiruaku, EDGE (Boston College) – Projected to fill the pass-rush role the Bills expected from Von Miller.
- Connor Rogers (NBC Sports): Tyleik Williams, DT (Ohio State) – A strong run defender who could help solidify Buffalo’s front seven.
- Chris Trapasso (CBS Sports): Kenneth Grant, DT (Michigan) – A young, powerful defensive tackle who fits Buffalo’s long-term needs.
On the offensive side, Ryan Wilson from CBS Sports sees the Bills selecting Missouri wide receiver Luther Burden III. Although his 2024 stats were underwhelming due to inconsistent quarterback play, his 2023 numbers and dynamic playmaking ability point to first-round talent.
Despite the wide variety of projections, there is still no clear consensus on what the Bills will do at pick 30. The draft could come down to Buffalo simply taking the best player available, depending on how the board falls.
