Buffalo Bills Show Interest in Ole Miss Linebacker Chris ‘Pooh’ Paul Jr.
Linebacker Chris “Pooh” Paul Jr., who spent the 2023 season at Ole Miss, is drawing significant interest ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft — including from the Buffalo Bills. In his only year with the Rebels, Paul led the team with a career-best 86 tackles, added 3.5 sacks, four pass breakups, and recorded his first collegiate interception. He started in 11 of 12 games, playing a key role in Pete Golding’s defense.
Following his standout season, Paul declared for the NFL Draft and has been steadily building his profile. The 6-foot-1, 235-pound linebacker participated in the East-West Shrine Bowl, the NFL Scouting Combine, and his Pro Day, all of which helped elevate his draft projection. He is currently projected to be selected in the third or fourth round.
The Buffalo Bills are one of several teams taking a close look at Paul. According to reports, the Bills have met with him on three separate occasions — at the NFL Combine, during a Zoom call, and through a private workout. The team appears to be seriously evaluating him as a potential draft target.
Paul, a native of Georgia, described himself as a physical, sideline-to-sideline player who’s always focused on improving. “I know there are things I still need to work on, and I know NFL scouts see things I can continue to develop,” he said in an interview with WIVB. “But I believe I’ve shown growth every year.”
Looking ahead to the NFL Draft, which takes place April 24–26 in Green Bay, Wisconsin, Paul believes he’s made a positive impression on teams. “I think they got a good sense of who I am, both on and off the field,” he said. “It reminded me a little of the recruiting process back in high school.”
