Cowboys NFL Draft Prospect from Texas Arrested in Frisco
FRISCO – The 2025 NFL Draft features a strong class of wide receivers, with several expected to be selected in the top 10. Although the Dallas Cowboys don’t have an early pick, they are expected to target a receiver in the early rounds. However, recent developments may affect the draft outlook for one top prospect.
Texas wide receiver Isaiah Bond surrendered to Frisco police on Thursday in connection with an outstanding warrant for sexual assault, according to information shared by NFL reporter Ian Rapoport. Bond has since posted bail and been released.
Bond is projected to be selected in the late first or early second round. Known for his ability to play both outside and in the slot, he’s seen as a strong fit for a team like Dallas, which is looking for a complementary piece to star receiver CeeDee Lamb.
NFL.com analyst Lance Zierlein describes Bond as an “explosive athlete with above-average skill,” noting that he simply needs more opportunities to reach his full potential. Zierlein believes Bond could become a significant contributor early in his NFL career.
Despite Bond’s potential, the charges could negatively impact his draft stock as more details emerge. The specifics of the incident remain unclear at this time.
Bond transferred to Texas from Alabama and played one season with the Longhorns. In 2024, he recorded 534 receiving yards on 34 receptions with five touchdowns. He also dealt with late-season injuries that limited his availability.
