Bills’ New Edge Rusher Eyes Super Bowl Showdown Against Former Team
Buffalo Bills defensive end Michael Hoecht has set ambitious goals despite facing a six-game suspension to start the 2025 season. The recently signed pass rusher expressed hope for a Super Bowl matchup against his former team, the Los Angeles Rams.
Hoecht, who inked a 3-year, $21 million deal with Buffalo, acknowledged his PED suspension in an Instagram post thanking the Rams organization: “I’m beyond grateful for five great years in LA… Hope to meet you all again in the Super Bowl sometime real soon.”
General Manager Brandon Beane confirmed the Bills were aware of Hoecht’s pending suspension before signing him. The former Brown University standout will miss nearly half the season before making his Bills debut.
While Hoecht never emerged as a dominant force with the Rams (recording just 9.5 sacks in five seasons), Buffalo hopes his rotational presence can bolster their pass rush behind Von Miller and Greg Rousseau. The suspension-delayed debut adds another challenge for a Bills team already navigating salary cap constraints.
