Bills Urged to Bring Back Veteran Cornerback
Rasul Douglas may not be a star cornerback, but he has been a dependable contributor for the Buffalo Bills. Over the past two seasons, he provided stability opposite rising talent Christian Benford in the secondary.
With limited cap space ($6 million remaining), re-signing Douglas could be a cost-effective move. Analyst Kristopher Knox believes the 30-year-old’s familiarity with the defense and playmaking ability (14 interceptions from 2021-2023) make him a logical fit.
Douglas recorded four interceptions during his time in Buffalo, proving he can still contribute. While not an elite shutdown corner, he offers valuable experience at a position where depth is crucial.
As free agency drags on, Douglas’ asking price may drop, increasing the likelihood of a reunion. The Bills could benefit from his veteran presence, especially with the NFL Draft approaching.
Buffalo faces tough financial decisions but retaining Douglas on a modest deal could shore up their secondary without breaking the bank.
