The Denver Broncos are looking to strengthen their tight end position in the 2025 NFL Draft, despite already adding Evan Engram through free agency. This year’s tight end class is strong, and passing on it would be a missed opportunity for the Broncos.
One of the top prospects in this class is Harold Fannin Jr. from Bowling Green. Although his stock dipped slightly after a less-than-ideal performance at the NFL Scouting Combine, Fannin set an FBS record for receptions in a season by a tight end, catching 117 passes for 1,555 yards and 10 touchdowns. He was named an All-American and is seen as a potential top-100 pick.
Fannin recently announced he would be visiting the Broncos’ facility for an official top-30 visit. While such visits don’t guarantee a draft selection, Kay Adams gave him some valuable advice before meeting with Broncos head coach Sean Payton. Adams, who has a good relationship with Payton, recalled a story where Payton was impressed by a player’s “all-football” backpack during a private workout. She advised Fannin to ensure his bag was filled with just football-related items to make a strong impression.
Fannin would be a great fit for the Broncos, with comparisons to Juwan Johnson. He’s an excellent pass-catching tight end with soft hands, making him a key asset in the passing game. Pairing him with Engram, who can contribute right away, would allow Fannin to develop at his own pace while still making a contribution.
