Bills CB Christian Benford Commits to Excellence After Signing 4-Year Extension
Buffalo Bills cornerback Christian Benford expressed gratitude and determination after finalizing a four-year contract extension that keeps him with the team through 2029. The deal, announced Wednesday, rewards Benford’s development into a key defensive contributor since being drafted in 2022.
“All those tears at night, all the hard work – it’s paying off,” Benford told reporters. The 24-year-old reflected on his journey from sixth-round pick to established starter, emphasizing his unchanged commitment to excellence despite the new contract.
Benford’s mindset remains focused on team success and personal growth. “My drive is already strong to be the best in the league,” he stated. “This changes nothing – my goal is still to win a Super Bowl and be the best.”
The cornerback acknowledged former teammate Rasul Douglas’ mentorship, joking about potentially recruiting his close friend back to Buffalo. “It would be cool to play with my brother again,” Benford said with a smile, while noting the decision ultimately isn’t his.
