Bills GM Shares Thoughts on Josh Allen’s Offensive Weapons
The Buffalo Bills boasted one of the NFL’s top offenses last season, with quarterback Josh Allen earning MVP honors while leading a high-scoring unit that averaged 30.9 points per game. Despite their success, many believed the team lacked a true No. 1 wide receiver.
This offseason, the Bills addressed the position by acquiring Josh Palmer from the Los Angeles Chargers, adding speed to their receiving corps. However, questions remain about whether Buffalo needs another playmaker for Allen.
General Manager Brandon Beane downplayed the idea of a pressing need, stating, “I wouldn’t say ‘needs,’ but we’ll look for competition. Our offense performed well last year. We’re pleased with adding Josh Palmer—he fits our system as a versatile receiver. There’s still time to add players, but I don’t see a glaring hole.”
The Bills’ current receiving options include Khalil Shakir, Palmer, Curtis Samuel, and Keon Coleman, along with tight ends Dalton Kincaid and Dawson Knox. While Beane isn’t actively seeking a star receiver, he acknowledged the possibility of drafting one if the right opportunity arises.
Veteran free agents like Keenan Allen and Tyler Lockett remain available, but their salary demands may be too high for Buffalo. If the Bills add another pass-catcher, it’s more likely to be for depth rather than a major splash.
