Bills’ Strategy for Joey Bosa’s Health and Career Revival in 2025
Last season, the Buffalo Bills had an aging edge rusher dealing with significant injury challenges. While Von Miller served a four-game suspension early in the year, he still managed to play all 16 regular-season games (including playoffs) and registered six sacks. This demonstrated the team’s ability to keep players with injury concerns healthy throughout a season. This experience could prove valuable in helping new edge rusher Joey Bosa regain his form and revitalizing his career at a crucial point. That’s the approach head coach Sean McDermott plans to take moving forward.
“We’ve had success before in bringing in players with injury histories and helping them perform,” McDermott said. “[Bosa’s] been with the same team for almost nine years, and sometimes a change of scenery can help reignite his competitive fire.”
Joey Bosa
Bosa has struggled with injuries over the past three seasons, playing only 28 games and failing to exceed 10 sacks in a season since 2021. While he earned a Pro Bowl nod last season, it was mainly as an alternate and not due to his overall performance. If the Bills can craft a training and game plan that keeps Bosa on the field and maximizes his potential, it could help restore the former All-Pro to his peak form and boost the Bills’ defensive capabilities.
