The Hallmark Channel is focusing more on football-themed movies. After the success of Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story last year, the network is continuing this trend with A Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story, set to be released this holiday season. The film will be shot entirely in the Greater Buffalo area, including Highmark Stadium, as reported by The Buffalo News.
Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin shared the announcement on social media after NBC’s Today show revealed it. He expressed excitement about the film, saying, “We’re so excited to celebrate our team, our fans, and give a shoutout to Bills Mafia.”
However, Bills quarterback Josh Allen, who is engaged to actress Hailee Steinfeld, will not be part of the movie, according to Sports Business Journal.
The movie is being produced in partnership with the NFL and Skydance Sports. Buffalo Bills COO Pete Guelli expressed his enthusiasm about the collaboration, noting that it highlights both the Hallmark Channel and the Buffalo Bills brands.
Although this is an exciting development for Bills fans who love Hallmark movies, some may feel a bit disappointed that the sequel will follow the Kansas City Chiefs’ earlier film. Fans will have to hope that this sequel is even better than the original.
