Despite not making major free-agent signings this offseason, the Philadelphia Eagles have strengthened their roster with several key additions. New players like edge rushers Azeez Ojulari and Josh Uche, right guard Kenyon Green, and special teams players Avery Williams and Charley Hughlett will compete for significant roles. However, one of the most underrated moves could be the signing of running back AJ Dillon from the Green Bay Packers.
Dillon, known for his power and nickname “Quadzilla,” brings a unique element to the Eagles’ offense. With Saquon Barkley likely taking on a heavy workload, Dillon could help by giving Barkley some rest while also being a reliable option in critical situations. His ability to run between the tackles, block, and catch passes makes him a versatile asset, and his experience alongside Aaron Jones in Green Bay means he’s well-equipped to handle a larger role in the Eagles’ offense.
With Dillon on board, the Eagles have an opportunity to expand their ground game, especially by using a “Pony” package where both Dillon and Barkley can be on the field at the same time, causing problems for opposing defenses. This addition could make the Eagles’ running attack even more formidable as they look to defend their Super Bowl title.
