Ohio State’s new offensive line coach, Tyler Bowen, has quickly made an impact by securing two top in-state recruits. Just two weeks ago, Bowen brought in Maxwell Riley, the top offensive lineman in Ohio, who is ranked No. 84 nationally. This week, Bowen secured another big commitment from Sam Greer, the second-best offensive lineman in the state. Greer, a 6’6.5″, 310-pound prospect from Akron, is ranked No. 188 in the country. Although he has only one year of high school football experience due to previous injuries, his potential is high, especially considering his talents in basketball as well.
Greer’s commitment video shows his strong bond with Bowen, which speaks to how well the new coach has connected with his recruits. With these two important in-state commitments under his belt, Bowen now shifts his focus to landing elite national recruits. Notably, Ohio State is in the running for Jackson Catwell, the No. 1 player in the country, and Felix Ojo, the No. 7 player. Bowen’s success in recruiting could make him one of the most impactful position coach hires of the offseason.
For now, fans can enjoy highlights of Greer’s junior season at Archbishop Hoban High School.
