The Minnesota Vikings are aiming to strengthen their roster with developmental prospects as they approach the NFL Draft. Wide receiver is a notable need for the team, especially due to the inconsistency of 2021 sixth-round pick Jalen Nailor. To address this, the Vikings signed former Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Rondale Moore, who is known for his remarkable physical abilities, including squatting 600 pounds. Despite this addition, the team is still interested in another standout wide receiver in the upcoming draft.
On March 23, 2025, Minnesota Star Tribune’s Ben Goessling reported that the Vikings met with Baylor wide receiver Monaray Baldwin at the Big 12 Pro Day. Baldwin, standing 5-foot-9, ran an impressive 4.32-second 40-yard dash at the event. He was ranked No. 42 on The Athletic’s “Freak List” for 2024, recognized for his strength and explosive play. Baldwin had previously benched 400 pounds, and while he only bench-pressed 365 pounds at the pro day, it was still more than double his body weight. His speed on the field reached up to 23.16 mph, and in 2023, he led the Bears in receptions (38) and receiving yards (623), scoring four touchdowns.
While Baldwin is admired for his physicality and toughness, he is still refining his route running and catching ability, especially in traffic. He is expected to be a Day 3 pick in the draft due to his size and some inconsistencies. However, his potential makes him a valuable prospect, and with the Vikings having one of the league’s top receivers coaches, Keenan McCardell, they may look to make a play for Baldwin if he goes undrafted.
