Although Allen is not the same dominant player he once was, his experience and dependable hands would bring depth to the Rams’ receiving corps. As he heads into free agency at the age of 33, Allen is likely looking to either stay with the Bears or return to the West Coast, where he spent the majority of his career with the Chargers.
The Rams have made strides in rebuilding their receiving group, but the loss of Demarcus Robinson in free agency leaves a gap. While TuTu Atwell is expected to step up into a larger role in 2025, the Rams still face the challenge of finding another experienced playmaker. Nacua, who will be a focal point of the offense, and Adams, who was signed to replace Cooper Kupp, are expected to lead the receiving unit. However, the Rams might not prioritize signing another veteran wide receiver like Allen due to their existing depth and plans for young players like Atwell and Nacua.
Despite the crowded receiving room, the Rams could still benefit from Allen’s leadership and skill set, especially in red-zone situations and as a reliable target for Stafford. With Allen’s playoff experience and history of success, he could bring a veteran presence to a team looking to contend. However, with the Rams’ shift towards developing younger talent and their existing plans for 2025, they may not be heavily pursuing Allen at this time.
