After the conclusion of the 2024-25 season, Clemson basketball is already focusing on next year’s roster, despite the disappointing end to their campaign. With key players like Chase Hunter, Jaeden Zackery (who may return), Ian Schieffelin, and Viktor Lakhin leaving, Coach Brad Brownell is working to fill these significant gaps.
One player Brownell has reached out to is Nevada transfer Nick Davidson. Standing 6-foot-10 and weighing 238 pounds, Davidson brings versatility to the table. During the 2024-25 season, he averaged 15.8 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.2 blocks while shooting 50% from the field and 37% from three-point range. His all-around game makes him an ideal fit to replace Schieffelin and Lakhin, helping to ensure that Clemson’s 2025-26 season doesn’t become a rebuilding year.
Davidson has also drawn interest from several top programs, including North Carolina, Kentucky, and Arizona, among others. With Brownell’s recent success in the ACC, including leading the Tigers to an Elite Eight appearance and a school-record 27 wins, landing a player like Davidson would be a strong statement about the program’s continued rise.
