South Carolina football has secured a commitment from the top-ranked offensive lineman in the state for the 2026 class. Zyon Guiles, a four-star offensive lineman, made the announcement on Friday morning during a ceremony at Carvers Bay High. The 6-foot-5, 285-pound player chose the Gamecocks over a list of contenders, including Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, and Tennessee. He becomes the sixth commitment for South Carolina’s 2026 class and the second offensive lineman, joining Anthony Baxter from South Pointe.
Guiles had recently announced his top seven schools, and during the ceremony, he selected South Carolina by putting on the Gamecocks’ hat. Despite having plans to visit multiple schools in the spring and summer, he decided to commit to South Carolina before taking any official visits. Guiles is ranked among the top-160 players in the nation and is considered one of the top-15 offensive tackles in the country.
This commitment adds another key piece to what could be a strong in-state recruiting class for the Gamecocks. So far, the team has commitments from the top-ranked player in the state, cornerback J’Zavien Currence, along with the third-ranked Guiles and fifth-ranked tight end Jamel House. Additionally, Dutch Fork edge rusher Julian Walker, who is still uncommitted, remains a potential future Gamecock, as his father works with the USC football team.
This marks another positive step for head coach Shane Beamer as he continues to build a strong recruiting class for South Carolina.
