Oklahoma Lands a Second Quarterback for Its 2026 Recruiting Class!
Oklahoma has extended an offer to 4-star quarterback Bowe Bentley, adding him to its 2026 recruiting class alongside Californian Jaden O’Neal, who has already committed to the Sooners.
Bentley, a standout from Celina, Texas, led his team to a 4A state title with impressive stats, completing 171-of-245 passes (69.8%) for 3,211 yards, 47 touchdowns, and 7 interceptions. He also rushed for 923 yards and 16 touchdowns, helping his team finish 16-0.
Bentley is ranked the No. 11 quarterback and No. 28 player in Texas by 247 Sports, and while many predict he’ll commit to Texas Tech, Oklahoma’s offer could change the trajectory of his recruitment.
Meanwhile, O’Neal, a 4-star QB from Narbonne High School in Harbor City, CA, remains committed to Oklahoma despite a November visit to Colorado.
O’Neal threw for 3,040 yards, 28 touchdowns, and only 4 interceptions last season, leading his team to a CIF championship. He’s ranked as the No. 12 QB nationally and No. 23 in California. O’Neal has been vocal about his loyalty to the Sooners, posting on social media about his excitement for Junior Day in Norman.
Historically, Oklahoma only offers one quarterback per class, but with the growing impact of the transfer portal, the Sooners appear open to bringing in multiple signal-callers, as seen with 2024 recruits Michael Hawkins and Brendan Zurbrugg.
With both Bentley and O’Neal in the fold, Oklahoma’s 2026 strategy might be evolving to address future depth at the quarterback position.
