Suns Star Shines as a Top All-Star Contender!
Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant is on track for his 15th All-Star appearance as the 2024-25 season unfolds.
In the latest All-Star voting update, Durant ranks second among Western Conference frontcourt players, just behind Nikola Jokic. He outpaces other big names like LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Victor Wembanyama.
Durant continues to make his mark as one of the league’s elite players, with another All-Star selection within reach.
Suns’ star Devin Booker is currently ranked ninth in the Western Conference guard voting, while Kevin Durant continues to shine with his stellar performance.
Durant is putting up impressive numbers, averaging 27.7 points on 51.2% shooting, alongside 6.5 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game. At 36, he remains at the top of his game.
However, the Suns have struggled this season, sitting at a 15-17 record and outside the playoff race. Durant, as a leader, feels the weight of the team’s performance on his shoulders.
“I just feel like I got to be better at affecting the game,” Durant shared after a recent loss. “I can do so much out there. It starts with me—my energy, keeping the ball in my hands. I had three turnovers in the second half. I can’t do that. We all need to look in the mirror and see where we can improve as individuals, then bring that to the team.”
With All-Star voting closing on January 20, Durant remains a top contender for his 15th appearance, despite the Suns’ struggles.
