Football in Miami, Florida, obviously avoided watching the College Football Playoffs all day Saturday. As SMU and Clemson, their Atlantic Coast Conference rivals, faltered, the Hurricanes added talent.
Two commits were obtained by the ‘Canes and head coach Mario Cristobal through the transfer portal.
On Saturday morning, David Blay, a former nose tackle for Louisiana Tech, joined the Coral Gables. Miami, however, wasn’t finished.
Less than three hours later, Charles Brantley, a cornerback for Michigan State, decided to join the Hurricanes, according to Hayes Fawcett of On3.com.
Brantley made his promise while Clemson was struggling against Texas in Austin, behind 28–10 at the half.
The former Spartans defender was also acquired by the Hurricanes after SMU’s crushing 38-10 defeat at the hands of Penn State.
Miami bolstered its roster while Penn State and Texas smothered the ACC reps. Brantley and Bray happen to be two of three newcomers to the ‘Canes in a span of three days. Ex-LSU wide receiver CJ Daniels committed to Miami on Wednesday.
