The Pittsburgh Steelers have officially ruled out defensive tackle Montravius Adams and cornerback Cory Trice Jr. for their upcoming game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Both players are within their 21-day activation windows to return from injury, but neither will be available this week.
Trice has missed three consecutive games since recovering from a hamstring injury three weeks ago. The Steelers face a Thursday deadline to activate him from injured reserve; otherwise, his season will come to an end.
Adams is recovering from a torn meniscus and had expressed hope earlier in the week about playing, but his return will have to wait at least another week. In the meantime, Dean Lowry will continue serving as the team’s backup nose tackle.
Additionally, Alex Highsmith is listed as doubtful as he recovers from an ankle injury. Having missed the last two games with a significant low ankle sprain, he appears to be another week away from returning to action.
