As the Kentucky Wildcats prepare to host the Georgia State Panthers, they will be without one key rotational player.
Sophomore center Brandon Garrison was spotted in sweats during pregame warmups and did not participate in his usual routine.
On the pregame radio show, head coach Mark Pope confirmed that Garrison would be sidelined as a precaution due to soreness.
In six games this season (all off the bench), the Oklahoma State transfer is averaging 6.3 points on 48.6% shooting, along with 5.2 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.2 blocks, and 1.2 steals over 18.5 minutes per game.
In Kentucky’s recent 77-72 victory over the Duke Blue Devils, Garrison contributed eight points on 4-of-5 shooting, adding four rebounds, two assists, one block, one steal, and one turnover. He also connected on a long jumper that initially appeared to be a three-pointer.
With upcoming road challenges against the Clemson Tigers and Gonzaga Bulldogs, it seems Kentucky is being cautious with Garrison in a game they are expected to win comfortably.
