Florida State is fighting to retain its 2025 recruiting class as the Early Signing Period approaches in less than a week. Several prospects have flipped from the Seminoles this fall, including three recruits who committed to rival Florida earlier this month.
Five-star offensive lineman Solomon Thomas, the top-rated prospect in #Tribe25, has been committed to Florida State since last December.
However, his commitment is in question following the dismissal of offensive coordinator and offensive line coach Alex Atkins. Over the past two weekends, Thomas has visited LSU and Florida, exploring his options.
In positive news for the Seminoles, Thomas is expected to return to Tallahassee this weekend to watch Florida State face Florida.
Head coach Mike Norvell will have a final chance to solidify Thomas’ commitment before signing day. This visit provides an opportunity for Norvell to outline a clear plan to reassure the elite recruit about his future in the program.
The visit is especially crucial since Florida State has yet to name a new offensive line coach. Without clarity on the coaching search, retaining Thomas could prove difficult. Committing to a program without knowing who will oversee his development presents a significant challenge.
The Seminoles have considerable work to do to keep the Florida native on board. Thomas is one of three offensive linemen committed to FSU in the 2025 class, alongside four-stars Mario Nash Jr. and Peyton Joseph.
Standing at 6-foot-4 and 315 pounds, Thomas is ranked as the No. 24 overall prospect, the No. 2 interior offensive lineman, and the No. 4 recruit in the 2025 class by 247Sports.
Florida State currently holds 12 verbal commitments in #Tribe25, a class ranked No. 46 nationally.
