Former Buffalo Bills linebacker Leonard Floyd is excited about his upcoming return to Orchard Park when the San Francisco 49ers face the Bills in a Sunday Night Football game on December 1. Floyd, who played for the Bills in 2023, shared his anticipation during a November 25 interview on KNBR’s “Murph & Markus” show, highlighting the “great fans” and the “hostile environment” of Highmark Stadium.
Floyd spent three years with the Los Angeles Rams and four with the Chicago Bears before signing a two-year, $20 million contract with the 49ers in the offseason. Though the 49ers are struggling with a 5-6 record and coming off a tough 38-10 loss to the Green Bay Packers, Floyd has been a standout performer, recording 6.5 sacks and a forced fumble this season.
Floyd acknowledged the challenge of facing Josh Allen and the Bills’ offense. He called the matchup tough, noting Allen’s competitive nature and the need for a high-level performance. Floyd expressed his determination, saying he would give his all to bring down Allen.
Floyd’s time with the Bills was memorable, as he registered 10.5 sacks in 2023, including a crucial sack of Aaron Rodgers in Week 1, which ended Rodgers’ season. Floyd’s career stats include 402 tackles, 64.5 sacks, and 2 interceptions.
This game marks the first in a series of reunions for Floyd, as he will also face his former team, the Chicago Bears, on December 8, and the Rams on December 12. The 49ers and Bills will kick off at 8:20 p.m. Eastern on NBC’s Sunday Night Football.
