Chris Denson, a 6-foot-3, 190-pound quarterback from Plant City, FL, initially committed to Coastal Carolina for his college football career. However, he recently announced that he will instead play for Clemson. While Denson had received offers from several schools, including Minnesota, Pittsburgh, South Florida, and Arkansas State, he ultimately chose Clemson.
During his senior season, Denson completed 142 of 217 passes for 2,334 yards, 28 touchdowns, and only three interceptions. He also demonstrated impressive rushing skills, running 113 times for 1,159 yards, averaging 11.9 yards per carry, and scoring 12 touchdowns. As a junior, he was named the Florida FACA 4M Player of the Year after leading his team, Plant City, to a 6-5 record. He threw for 2,147 yards, 26 touchdowns, and 8 interceptions, while also rushing for 688 yards and three touchdowns.
Despite his team’s narrow loss in the Florida state playoffs, where they were defeated 26-25 by West Orange, Denson had an outstanding performance. He rushed for 235 yards and a touchdown, averaging 13.1 yards per carry, while also throwing for 202 yards and two touchdowns on just 19 passes.

Clemson was in need of a quarterback for the 2025 recruiting class following Blake Hebert’s decision to commit to Notre Dame in October. Denson’s commitment brings the Tigers’ total to 14 recruits for the 2025 cycle.
Denson’s commitment to Clemson adds another strong player to the Tigers’ recruiting class, further bolstering their prospects for the 2025 season.
