Should the Bills Reunite with Former Linebacker After His Release?
As the Buffalo Bills aim to extend their five-game win streak in Sunday’s matchup with the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs, the team is starting to see progress in terms of health, particularly on defense. However, if they seek additional depth, a potential target has just become available. The Seattle Seahawks made the surprising move of waiving linebacker Tyrel Dodson on Monday. Dodson currently leads the Seahawks with 71 combined tackles through nine games this season.
Dodson, who went undrafted in 2019, spent the first five years of his career with the Bills. In 2023, he started a career-high 10 games for Buffalo after Matt Milano suffered a season-ending injury. Dodson finished that season with 74 combined tackles, 8 tackles-for-loss, and 2.5 sacks. While Milano is expected to return soon after the Bills opened his 21-day practice window, adding Dodson back to the roster could provide valuable depth at linebacker.

Seattle’s decision to waive Dodson is somewhat surprising, especially given his strong performance as a full-time starter. The reasons behind the move remain unclear, and there could be off-field factors at play. However, considering Dodson’s familiarity with the Bills’ system and locker room, bringing him back could be a smart move, especially as Buffalo looks to strengthen its defense and make a playoff push.
