Hailee Steinfeld, girlfriend of Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen, shared a heartfelt message on social media following the 2024 presidential election. The Bills secured a 30-27 win over the Miami Dolphins in Week 9, maintaining their stronghold in the AFC East, with Allen contributing 235 passing yards and three touchdowns. Steinfeld was at Highmark Stadium to support the team.
Ahead of the Bills’ upcoming game against the Indianapolis Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday, November 10, Steinfeld addressed her followers on Instagram. The Oscar-nominated actress posted on November 7, two days after Donald Trump’s election victory, encouraging unity. “Wherever you are, and whatever you’re feeling, remember to take a moment for yourself, find a bit of calm, and connect with those who bring you joy. We’re all in this together and I’m sending much love your way. 🤍,” wrote Steinfeld to her 20 million followers.
Earlier, Steinfeld had shown subtle political engagement. About two weeks before Election Day, she liked a post by fashion editor Joe Zee endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris. Zee’s post highlighted the importance of the election, emphasizing civil rights, particularly in response to over 500 anti-LGBTQ bills introduced by Republicans. However, Steinfeld later unliked the post.
While Steinfeld largely stayed out of politics this year, she previously voiced her support for marginalized communities. When her Apple TV series Dickinson won a Peabody Award in 2020, she emphasized equality in her acceptance speech, stating, “At the end of the day, we are all human… This message of equality and fighting for what we believe is right is so incredibly important right now.”
