Canberra Raiders prop Peter Hola has been forced to turn down interest from Super League clubs to remain in the NRL, League Express can exclusively reveal.
Hola, who has made just three appearances for the Raiders since his debut in 2022, previously played 12 games for the North Queensland Cowboys between 2019 and 2021.
He also featured in 22 games for the Raiders’ reserve grade in the New South Wales Cup over the past two seasons.
Under new visa regulations, players aged 24 or younger who have competed in the NSW or Queensland Cup can qualify for visas to play in the UK.
However, at 25, Hola no longer meets the criteria, as he hasn’t played enough games to secure a UK visa. As a result, he will remain in Australia.
With Canberra opting not to renew his contract, which expired at the end of 2024, Hola has signed with The Dolphins’ feeder team, Redcliffe, in an effort to secure a new NRL deal.
