Huntsville Kicks Off 2025-2026 Budget Survey: Share Your Voice and Shape the Future!

Huntsville’s annual budget preparation for 2025-2026 is in full swing, and this year the town is inviting residents to weigh in through a new community survey. Open from September 3-30, 2024, the survey aims to capture your opinions and priorities on the municipal budget. Your feedback will play a crucial role in shaping the final Draft Budget.

The 2025-2026 Budget Survey seeks residents’ opinions on various municipal spending priorities. Your tax dollars support essential services including Parks, Cemeteries, Trails, Aquatic and Recreation Services, Arts and Culture, Bylaw Enforcement, Fire and Emergency Management, Public Transit, Infrastructure, and more.

This year, Huntsville is preparing a two-year budget, allowing for better long-term resource allocation and clearer insights into future taxes and services. The budget will be initially reviewed at a two-day meeting on November 11 and 12, 2024, and then discussed further by the General Committee. The final budget is anticipated to be approved by the Council in January 2025. The window for new budget proposals from the community is now closed, but any approved requests will be incorporated into the draft budget.
