Done Deal: Midfielder Joins Wycombe on Loan

Midfielder Aaron Morley from Bolton Wanderers has joined Wycombe Wanderers on a season-long loan. The 24-year-old, whose contract runs until the summer of 2027, heads to Adams Park in search of regular playing time.

Morley was an unused substitute in Bolton’s opening league matches against Leyton Orient and Wrexham but started in the Carabao Cup tie against Mansfield Town.

Bolton have several midfield options following the loan signing of Jay Matete from Sunderland. Kyle Dempsey has returned from injury, and Scott Arfield, who joined from MLS side Charlotte earlier this summer, is also available.

Last week, Bolton manager Ian Evatt commented on potential departures: “By the end of this month and this window, players will know where they stand in the pecking order.

“With that will come some responsibility and perhaps frustration, and if that frustration leads them to seek opportunities elsewhere, we can have honest conversations about it. I have a strong relationship with all the players—it’s open, honest, and transparent.”

Wycombe have had a challenging start to their League One campaign with losses against Wrexham and Birmingham City.

The Chairboys return to action on Saturday when Rotherham United visit Adams Park.

Wycombe manager Matt Bloomfield expressed his enthusiasm for the signing: “Aaron is a fantastic addition for us, and we’re delighted to have him after seeing his consistent performances at the top end of this division with Bolton over the past couple of years.

“We’re looking really strong in midfield, and he adds another option, as well as a goal threat both in creating chances for others and scoring himself.”
