Bolton Wanderers: Aaron Morley joins Wycombe on loan

Wanderers midfielder Aaron Morley has joined Wycombe on a season-long loan.

The 24-year-old, under contract until the summer of 2027, heads to Adams Park seeking regular playing time.

Morley was an unused substitute in Bolton’s opening league matches against Leyton Orient and Wrexham but started in the Carabao Cup match against Mansfield Town.

Bolton’s midfield is well-stocked, with the recent loan signing of Jay Matete from Sunderland, the return of Kyle Dempsey from injury, and the addition of Scott Arfield, who joined from MLS side Charlotte earlier this summer.

Last week, Ian Evatt commented on potential departures, saying, “By the end of this month and this transfer window, everyone will know where they stand in the pecking order.

With that clarity comes responsibility and, likely, some frustration. If that frustration leads players to seek opportunities elsewhere, then we can have honest conversations about it.”

“I have a really good relationship with all of the players; it’s open, honest, and transparent.”

Wycombe have had a challenging start to their League One season, with defeats against Wrexham and Birmingham City.

The Chairboys will return to action on Saturday afternoon when they host Rotherham United at Adams Park.

Manager Matt Bloomfield told the club’s website: “Aaron is a fantastic signing for us, and we’re really pleased to have him here. He’s consistently delivered at the top level of this division for Bolton over the past couple of years.

We’re looking strong in the midfield, and Aaron provides another valuable option. He also poses a goal threat, both by creating chances for others and finding the back of the net himself.”
