JUST IN: Peterborough United have bid accepted for Premier League youngster

Peterborough United and Wycombe Wanderers have had loan offers accepted by Ipswich Town for Cameron Humphreys, as reported by journalist James Richings on X.

Both clubs are now waiting to see where Ipswich Town will decide to send Humphreys for the season. Ipswich were promoted to the Premier League last season after finishing second in the Championship behind Leicester City.

Humphreys, 20, is under contract with Ipswich until the summer of 2026. He has spent his entire career with the club, progressing through their academy.

According to Richings, Peterborough and Wycombe have been given the go-ahead to bring Humphreys in on loan before the transfer window closes.

However, Ipswich Town is still considering where to send him, with the deadline approaching next Friday. Peterborough may view Humphreys as a player who can add depth and competition to their midfield as they aim for promotion after losing in the play-off semi-finals last season to eventual winners Oxford United.

Wycombe Wanderers, who finished 10th last season under Matt Bloomfield, are also keen on the young midfielder.

Humphreys has been a regular at various youth levels for Ipswich Town and signed his first professional contract in 2021. He made his debut that same year in the Carabao Cup against Newport County.

Since then, the Colchester-born midfielder has made 39 appearances for Ipswich in all competitions, scoring four goals, though he only played three league matches last season.
