Broncos player reportedly cleared after investigation

A Brisbane Broncos outside back has reportedly been cleared by Queensland police following an investigation into an alleged domestic violence incident.

The investigation, which came to light several weeks ago, involved a Broncos player who has now been cleared, according to News Corp.

Under Queensland laws, the player’s identity has not been disclosed. The July incident did not result in any charges, and neither the Broncos nor the NRL took any action.

Although the police have reportedly informed the player that the investigation is concluded, no formal statement has been issued confirming this.

The player remains eligible for NRL selection and has been available for the past few weeks. The Broncos, who are coming off a bye, face the Parramatta Eels this weekend, followed by games against the Dolphins and Melbourne Storm in the final two rounds.

All three games will be played in Brisbane, and last year’s grand finalists likely need to win all their remaining matches to have a chance at making the top eight, as they currently trail the St George Illawarra Dragons by four points but hold a superior for-and-against record.
