Coaching staff, fans react to Crimson Tide landing a commitment from this 4-star RB

Courtney Morgan, Alabama’s General Manager, who is secured on a three-year contract, has made another big impact on the recruiting trail by helping the Crimson Tide secure one of the top running backs in the nation.

Akylin Dear, a four-star prospect from Quitman (Miss.) High School, verbally committed to Alabama on Tuesday, choosing the Tide over Ole Miss and Mississippi State.

The 6-foot-1, 200-pound running back will join fellow four-star recruit Anthony Rogers, forming a formidable duo in Alabama’s offensive backfield for years to come.

While Freddie Roach served as Dear’s primary recruiter, Robert Gillespie played a key role in finalizing the commitment.

Several coaches took to X to share their excitement about adding Akylin Dear to Alabama’s 2025 class. Daniel Hill, a freshman running back from Meridian, Miss., also expressed his enthusiasm for Dear’s commitment. Hill has played a crucial role in assisting the coaching staff in securing top talent from Mississippi.
