The next Leicester Tigers signing has been confirmed

Former Flying Fijians flyhalf Ben Volavola is on the verge of becoming one of Leicester Tigers’ new additions for the upcoming Gallagher Premiership season, having joined the club for pre-season training.

The 33-year-old has been searching for a new team since being released by French club Agen earlier this summer, along with 35 other players, when his contract expired.

Volavola will reunite with former Wallabies coach Michael Cheika, with whom he previously worked during their time at the NSW Waratahs.

While primarily known as a flyhalf, Volavola’s versatility allows him to play across the entire backline. Last season, he made 22 appearances in the Pro D2 for Agen, scoring 47 points.

If confirmed, Volavola would be Leicester’s fourth new signing ahead of the season, which begins next month.
