JUST IN: Former Raiders forward earns contract extension

Former Canberra Raiders forward Loghan Lewis will continue his overseas career for another season after making a strong impression since his arrival in June.

Although the 21-year-old never made a first-grade appearance for the Raiders, he excelled in the club’s NSW Cup team and has now made a name for himself in the Super League.

Having signed a two-year contract with Salford Red Devils, which included a club option for 2025, Rugby League Live reports that the option has been activated, ensuring Lewis will stay with the team next season.

This extension follows his success with the Red Devils, where he quickly became a fan favorite and was named the team’s Player of the Month in July after several standout performances.

With Lewis’ retention, Salford’s quota spots for overseas players are now filled for next season, with Cade Cust, Tim Lafai, Nene Macdonald, Jayden Nikorima, Sam Stone, and Shane Wright occupying the other spots.

“I am incredibly excited to join Salford Red Devils. As a young forward, I am eager to give everything to this team and its passionate fans each week,” Lewis said after signing with his new club.

“I am grateful for the opportunity the Red Devils have given me and am committed to making a positive impact both on and off the field.

“I can’t wait to get started, meet my new teammates and coaches, and continue building on this season’s success.”
